What is a coral stone ?

Coral is an organic stone, the red coral is rare and very appreciated in jewelry since ancient times for its blood red and its symbolism. In Greco-Roman mythology, coral is said to be the petrified blood of the Gorgon whose severed head Perseus threw into the sea. It is therefore attributed many virtues and magical powers. It has a hardness of 3.5 and 4 on the Mohs scale.
