What is a Bénitier Stone?

Bénitier is a gemstone (formerly known as a semi-precious stone), it is a giant clam that lives in the Red Sea or in the Indian and Pacific oceans. The bénitier produces huge pearls, and a very white nacre resembling porcelain. These white porcelain pearls can be sculpted and give an innocent look to any jewelry piece.
