Perfect finish for your DIY Jewellery (Pro Finishing)

To finish your bead necklace or bracelet creations with wire or nylon, you have several possibilities to finish the ends with or without a knot cover, with or without an open ring. Become a finishing expert after watching our video on how to finish your DIY jewellery creations!

  • Flat head pliers
  • Cutting pliers

Steps to follow according the kind of finish of your choice:

-Without knot cover and open ring -

1. Thread a tube/bead to be crushed onto a wire/nylon of your own design

2. Then thread a clasp (preferably with a closed ring), return the wire to the crimp tube/bead
3. Bring the tube as close as possible to the clasp and then crush the tube, cut off the excess wire (leave 2mm)
4. Do the same for the other end with a jump ring or extension chain instead of the clasp 

-With knot cover and without open ring -
1. Thread a crimp tube/bead onto a cable/nylon wire of your own design, then thread a clasp (preferably with a soldered ring), turn the wire into the crimp tube/bead
2. Bring the tube as close as possible to the clasp and then crush the tube. Cut off the excess wire (leave 2mm)
3. Place the knot cover over the crushed tube. Gently close the knot cover around the crushed tube
4. Do the same for the other end with a jump ring or extension chain instead of the clasp

-With knot cover and ring open - 
1. First thread the knot cover with closed ring over the wire/nylon, then a tube to be crushed
2. Crush the crush tube/bead and cut off the excess wire (leave 2mm)
3. Fold the knot cover over the crushed tube (be careful not to deform the knot cover)
4. Pass the closed ring of the knot cover and the extension chain through an open ring

-With knot cover and open ring | Solid hold -
1. Thread the closed ring knot cover onto the wire first, then a crimp tube, loop the wire back into the crimp tube
2. Bring the tube as close as possible to the extension chain, crush the tube and cut off the excess wire (leave 2mm)
3. Fold the knot cover at the level of the crushed tube (be careful not to deform the knot cover), Pass the closed ring of the knot cover and the extension chain in an open ring
