What is a pin/rod for jewelry?

A rod or a pin for jewelry is used to make jewelry, especially earrings. These findings are typically made of a metal rod with a flat or decorative end (the head) to hold the stone in place, while the rod is inserted into the stone and secured at the base of the jewelry piece. The heads of jewelry pins can also be decorated in various ways to add an extra aesthetic touch to the finished piece.
