What is Labradorite?

Labradorite is a fine stone (formerly known as a "semi-precious stone") known for its fascinating play of colors often in blue-green tones, called labradorescence, as well as for its metallic luster. In jewelry, Labradorite is enhanced by light, earning it the nickname "fire stone" given by the Native Americans. The main deposits of Labradorite are found in Canada, on the Labrador Peninsula where it was discovered, but also in the United States, Madagascar, Mexico, Russia, and Finland for the variety of spectrolite that displays all the colors of the rainbow in its reflections. It has a hardness of 6 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale. If you want to learn more about the history and virtues of the natural stone Labradorite, you can find this information in our Blog.

Whether you are a beginner or an expert creator, find our gemstones on thread Labradorite or individual beads classified by shape to create your prototypes of handmade jewelry (such as men's bracelet and/or women's).
