What is Howlite Stone?
Howlite is a semiprecious stone with a beautiful opaque white color often speckled with gray veins. It was discovered in 1868 in California and was named in honor of the Canadian chemist and mineralogist Henry How. It is sometimes wrongly referred to as "white turquoise." Deposits are found in the United States, Canada, Turkey, and Germany. It has a hardness of 3.5 on the Mohs scale. Too Many Beads?
If you only want to create jewelry prototypes and need samples, or if you find that our beads on strands are too many for your needs, we recommend taking a look at our individual beads. Classified by shapes, they will allow you to create prototypes and unique gifts, such as men's bracelets and/or women's necklaces.
