What is a Sodalite stone?

Sodalite is a fine stone (formerly known as a "semi-precious stone"), a gem with an intense bluish-purple color, often showing fine white veins of calcite. It is sometimes used in the composition of lapis lazuli but has a much more violet hue than the latter. The main deposits of sodalite are found in Brazil, Canada, and the United States, where it is widely used in jewelry for its intense color. It has a hardness of 5.5 to 6 on the Mohs scale. If you want to learn more about the history and virtues of the Natural Sodalite stone, you can find this information on our Blog.
