What is a Jade Stone?
Jade is a fine stone (formerly known as a semiprecious stone). It can range from pure white to dark green. There are two types of jade: jadeite, which is often light green and may sometimes have white areas, giving it the appearance of the famous and rare "imperial jade," but can also have shades of purple, orange, and brown; and nephrite, which is an intense green with small black inclusions (graphite and magnetite), resembling a kiwi fruit, but can also be completely white. Jade was the gemstone of choice for many civilizations in South America, such as the Mayans and Aztecs, as well as for much of Asia, particularly China, where it still holds a significant place. It has a hardness ranging from 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale. To learn more about its history and virtues, check out our article on Jade stone.
Too Many Beads?
If you only want to create jewelry prototypes and need samples, or if you find that our beads on strands are too numerous for your needs, we recommend taking a look at our individual beads. Sorted by shapes, they will allow you to create prototypes and unique gifts, such as men's bracelets and/or women's necklaces.
