What is a Prehnite stone?

Prehnite is a fine stone (formerly known as a "semi-precious stone"), a stone of green to very light yellow color and translucent. It is appreciated in jewelry for its rare dark green epidote inclusions. Prehnite was discovered at the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa, but is mainly produced in this country.
