What is a Prehnite Stone?

Prehnite is a gemstone (formerly known as "semi-precious stone") with a light green to yellow color, very clear and translucent. Its rare dark green epidote inclusions give it a certain interest in jewelry. Discovered at the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa, it is mainly produced in this country, although the finest stones often come from Mali and Australia.
