Prehnite is a very light green to yellow gemstone. Its translucency gives it an ingenuous look and its rare dark green inclusions of epidote make it a very interesting stone to work with in jewelry. It was discovered in the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa, which has remained its largest producer, although the finest stones often come from Mali and Australia.
