What is Cyanite Stone?

Cyanite (sometimes called Kyanite or disthene) is a fine stone (formerly known as a "semiprecious stone") recognizable by its denim blue color with a vitreous to pearly luster, which can also appear in darker shades of blue and sapphire blue, often streaked with white. The most famous deposits are found in the Kali Gandaki Region, on the border between Nepal and Tibet. It has a hardness of 4.5 to 7.5 on the Mohs scale and is known for its protective and soothing virtues. If you want to learn more about the history and virtues of the natural Cyanite stone, you can find this information on our Blog.
