What is a Chrysoprase Stone?

Chrysoprase is a fine stone (formerly known as a semi-precious stone), belonging to the variety of green chalcedonies, which gets its color from nickel. Its apple green color is very pleasing, but it can also have other shades of green, ranging from lighter to very dark. This gem has been appreciated since antiquity and was widely used by the Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans. It has a hardness of 2 to 4 on the Mohs scale.
