What is a Moonstone?

The moonstone is a fine stone (formerly known as a "semi-precious stone"), also known as Adularia. It is generally white with a subtle play of colors in shades of blue and pink called adularescence, which recalls the innocence of the Moon and is associated with fertility and femininity. Its main deposits are found in India, Sri Lanka, and Australia. In India, it is called "chandrakant," which means "loved by the Moon" in Hindi (from "chandra": moon and "kanta": loved). The moonstone symbolizes purity and pairs very well with a large number of alloys, thus softening all outfits. It has a hardness of 6 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale. If you want to learn more about the history and virtues of the natural stone moonstone, find this information in our Blog.

Whether you are a beginner or an expert creator, find our gemstones on thread moonstone or individual beads classified by shape to create your handmade jewelry prototypes (such as men's bracelet and/or women's).
