Bull's eye is a variety of shimmering quartz whose fascinating color playing with light is due to oxidized crocidolite fibers. This gem is cut in cabochon and sometimes very slightly faceted to highlight its orange-red reflections. Like tiger's eye, it is in South Africa that we find the largest deposits. But it is also found in India, Burma, Western Australia and a little in the United States. Its unique appearance makes it a prized stone in jewelry while being reasonably priced. Bull's eye is said to give courage and strength to undertake.
