What is a Bull's Eye stone?

Bull's Eye is a gemstone (formerly called "semi-precious stone"), it is a variety of chatoyant quartz whose fascinating color, playing with light, is due to oxidized crocidolite fibers. This gem is cut into cabochon and sometimes very slightly faceted to highlight its reddish-orange reflections. The largest deposits are in South Africa, but they can also be found in India, Burma, western Australia, and to a lesser extent in the United States. Its unique appearance makes it a sought-after stone in jewelry at a reasonable cost. It is said that the Bull's Eye stone gives courage and the strength to undertake.
