What is an African Turquoise Stone?

African turquoise is a fine stone (formerly known as "semi-precious stone"), which, despite its name, is not actually Turquoise. It is a speckled jasper of African origin, with a structure similar to that of jasper stone. The stone is turquoise green in color, speckled with darker inclusions.
