What is an African Turquoise stone?

African turquoise is a fine stone (formerly called "stone half-precious"), which, despite its name, is not Turquoise. It is in fact a mottled jasper of African origin, which has a structure similar to that of jasper stone. The stone is turquoise green in color, with darker inclusions.
