What is a Pyrite stone?

Pyrite is a fine stone (formerly known as a "semi-precious stone") with a metallic color, ranging from silver to gold, resembling gold. Often mistaken for the precious metal, Pyrite was called "fool's gold" before its potential in jewelry was recognized. It was used as a mirror by the Incas and was once called the "Inca stone". It has a hardness of 6 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale. If you want to learn more about its history and virtues, check out our article on Pyrite stone.

Whether you are a beginner or an expert creator, find our Pyrite gemstones on thread or individual beads classified by shape to create your handmade jewelry prototypes (such as a men's bracelet and/or women's).
