Moonstone, also called adularia, is most often white with a subtle play of colors in bluish and pink tones called adularescence. It recalls the innocence of the moon and is associated with fertility and femininity. Its main deposits are in India, Sri Lanka and Australia. In India, it is called chandrakant which means in Hindi "loved by the Moon" (from chandra: moon and kanta: loved). Synonymous with purity, the moonstone goes very well with a large number of alloys and will soften any outfit.
