Falcon's eye is a variety of shimmering quartz whose fascinating intense blue-green color playing with the light is due to unaltered crocidolite fibers. This gem is cabochon-cut and sometimes very slightly faceted to highlight its deep blue and green highlights. Like tiger's eye and bull's eye, it is in South Africa that we find the largest deposits. But it is also found in India, Burma, Western Australia and a little in the United States. Its unique appearance makes it a prized stone in jewelry while having a reasonable cost.
