Pyrite is a fine stone (formerly called half-preciousstone) with a metallic color, between silver and gold, reminiscent of gold. Often confused with the precious metal, pyrite was called "fool's gold" before its jewelry potential was recognized. It was used as a mirror by the Incas and was once called the "stone of the Incas".
